Early Years Foundation Stage

Spring 1

We had a visit from Hobgoblin Theatre Company this half term who performed 'The Greatest Fairytale Ever Told' to bring our theme of 'Once Upon a Time' to life. The children were mesmerised by the actors and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They recognised many of the characters and joined in with enthusiasm. 

Autumn 2

This half term nursery and reception have enjoyed sharing a wide selection of books. To increase enjoyment of these books staff have developed story areas with enhancements. The children have loved exploring these and talking about the story, the characters they can see and the resources on display in the enhancements.

Learning has also been developed in the outdoor environment. With the theme, Awesome Autumn, the children explored the trees, leaves, seeds and animals associated with the season. Planting bulbs for the Spring proved a firm favourite along with learning about hedgehogs, badgers and birds.
