Re: secondary transfer September 2021
The admissions process for transfer to secondary schools for September 2021 is now live on the Birmingham City Council website.
I am writing to invite Year 6 parents to a Microsoft Teams meeting on Friday 11th September.
During this meeting I will talk you through the admissions process, including what to do before you apply, completing the preference forms and sharing important dates for your diary.

Researching the schools you are interested in

Schools may have open evenings that you can attend. These may be virtual throughout September.

How close you live to a school is very important. Schools have cut off distances which change each year based on demand.

How do I apply?
Complete the Local Authority preference form online between September 2020 to 31st October 2020
Submit your online application.
You will receive an email confirmation. Check your confirmation email to make sure everything is correct.
Make sure you apply on time. Applications received after 31st October 2020 will be classed as late applications and will not be processed until after the offer of places on 1st March 2021.
How do I complete the preference form?
Complete all sections.
Name 6 schools you would like your child to attend.
Rank your 6 schools in order of preference.
Include full details of any brothers or sisters who will still be in attendance at the school in September 2021

September 2020 – research schools you are interested in
12th September 2020 – grammar school test
31st October 2020– closing date for acceptance of preference forms.
1st March 2021 – parents will receive email confirming secondary school.
15th March 2021- deadline for accepting the offer
