Summer Term After School Clubs

 

 

Spring Term After School Clubs

This term we are delighted to offer a range of after school activities for our children, details of which are below:

 

Year 1 and Year 2 Choir Club

15 children in year 1 and 2 have been offered the opportuity to take part in the Grove School choir. The children are supported by staff from the Welsh National Opera and have been practicing their singing skills each week. 

     

 

 

Year 1, and Year 2 Crafts Club

20 children in Years 1 and 2 have been offerd a craft club. Each week the children have created different projects including; games, dinosaurs, conkers and celebration cards. 

Year 3 and Year 4 Drumming Club

10 children in years 3 and 4 have been offered the opportunity to work with specialist drumming teachers from Bimingham Services for Music. The children have learnt the basics of drumming to a rhythm and have started to add their drumming to popular pieces of music. 

 

 

Year 3 and 4 Netball and Basketball Club

20 Children have been offered the opportunity to work with a coach from England Netball. At Grove we are proud to be working with National Governing Bodies to provide the very best extra curriculuar activities for our children. The children in years 3 and 4 have started the Bee Netball program and are looking forward to continuing this next year. For basketball, we have worked with King Edwards Sports Partnership to bring in a coach from Birmingham Rockets, who has helped develop the skills of our Year 3 and 4 children. 

 

Year 5 and 6 Crochet Club

12 children in year 5 and 6 took up the opportunity to learn how to crochet. The children designed their own piece and then created, hats, scarves and mini blankets. 

 

 

 

Year 5 and Year 6 Djemebe Club

12 children in years 5 and 6 have been offered the opportunity to work with specialist drumming teachers from Bimingham Services for Music. The children have learnt the basics of drumming to a rhythm and have started to add their drumming to popular pieces of music.

 

 

Year 5 and Year 6 Dance Club

We have offered a dance club for 20 children in year 5 and 6. The children are working with specialist teachers from KD Dance and Cheer acadmey. The chidlren are working on putting together a dance routine which can be shared with our parents and carers. 

 

 

EYFS Dance and Movement Club

In EYFS, we have offered 15 children a dance and movement club. In this club the children explore how to move their bodies in time to music. Children have created thier own movements and can talk about how a piece of music makes them feel. 

 

Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 Arts & Crafts Club

We have offered Art and craft to 40 children across years 1-4. The children have been usng human and cat's eyes as a stimulus for their artwrok. 

 

           

     

     

 

Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 Chess Club

In the Spring Term, 32 children in Years 3 and 4 attended Chess Club. At the end of the spring term we awarded a trophy for the best performing player. 

 

     

 

Year 3 and 4 Sewing Club

In the Spring Term, children in Years 3 and 4 attended sewing club.  They enjoyed using the sewing machine and learning how to hand stich to create bags and hand puppets.
